Rooted in Mount Royal

For Alexis Shouli, home has always meant more than four walls. Born and raised in Calgary’s historic Mount Royal neighbourhood, Alexis describes herself as lucky to have grown up surrounded by family. With her three parents — her mom Tia, dad Anton, and step-mom Elisabeth — and two brothers, Austin (30) and Adrian (19), she enjoyed a lively, close-knit childhood.

Some of her happiest memories are of racing up and down Prospect Avenue with her cousins, darting between her mom’s, dad’s, and aunt’s homes, all just steps apart.

Now, Alexis and her partner Ross are bringing her journey full circle by building their own home just a few blocks from where she grew up — a new chapter rooted in the same community that shaped her.

From Literature to Design

Alexis earned her degree in English Literature from the University of Victoria, but found her calling in design, working on large-scale national projects with Canadian Tire’s National Real Estate Development Team. The lessons she learned there — structure, planning, balance, and attention to detail — became the foundation for her future in entrepreneurship and luxury home design.

The roots of Alexis’s career stem back to her mother, Tia, whose refined sense of taste and design deeply inspired her.

“My mom taught me the art of curating a beautiful life — from cooking and entertaining to sleeping in the finest linens,” Alexis shares.

With the encouragement of her step-mom, who advised her to blend passion with skill, Alexis followed the path that led her to launch SPRY Organize Inc.

Today, Alexis is the proud owner and founder of SPRY Organize Inc., a Calgary-based company specializing in luxury home organizing, turnkey move-in setups, and compassionate senior downsizing.

Through SPRY, she transforms homes across Calgary into functional, beautiful, and instantly livable spaces. From garage overhauls to meticulously labeled pantries and closets, no detail is overlooked. Every drawer, shelf, and label is designed with purpose — blending form and function for an elevated sense of calm.

A core part of SPRY’s work focuses on senior downsizing — helping older adults transition from longtime family homes with compassion and care. Alexis and her team manage every step: sorting, donating, moving, and fully setting up the new residence.

“Our goal is to make sure you feel at home wherever your next chapter takes you,” Alexis says.

Living Beautifully and Intentionally

For Alexis, luxury home organization is about more than neatness — it’s about wellness, balance, and peace of mind.

“Living in a thoughtfully curated space means better sleep, less stress, and feeling grounded,” she explains.“When everything has a place, mornings feel lighter, time expands, and home becomes a sanctuary.”

When Alexis isn’t working, she’s often skiing, gardening, or playing tennis. Winters are spent at Panorama, where her brother coaches skiing, while summers are spent at the family’s cabin in Invermere — golfing, entertaining, and enjoying long dinners with Ross and loved ones.

At home in Calgary, Alexis and Ross love exploring new restaurants and spending quality time with family.

Life Beyond Work

Travel is another passion for the couple. Greece holds a special place in their hearts, with Ross and Alexis visiting three summers in a row — each trip paired with exploring a different European city.

They’re active in their community, hosting dinner parties and neighbourhood block events with food trucks and games. Their family also owns The Sweatered Hen, a cozy restaurant on 17th Avenue, which has become a local favourite.

“I love that everyone in Mount Royal takes pride in their homes,” Alexis says.“We’re lucky to live in such a beautiful community and to grow our family here.”

Full Circle

Alexis is grateful for her neighbours and the Neighbours of Mount Royal community itself — one her family has long been part of. Her step-mom once contributed as an advertiser and designer, and her family was featured as the magazine’s inaugural cover family years ago.

Now, Alexis feels honoured to carry that tradition forward with her own feature.
